We have also decided to create a newsletter every half term to let parents and children read all about the plans we are making and what each class has been up to ! Here is our first edition, we hope you like it! autumn term 1 newsletter.pub

Meet the School Council 2011/12

Year 2 Councillors

SDC17478.JPGMy name is Ruth, I am in Year 2. I want to be a school councillor so I can help all the students have a nice time at school and work hard.

Hello, my name is Louie. I am 7 years old and I am in Year 2. I love coming SDC17479.JPGto St Peter's School and I have lots of lovely friends. As a school councillor I will try to make school a better place by helping all Key Stage 1 and being a good listener. I would like to help to get more sport in school.

Year 3 Councillors

Hello, my name is Grace and I am in Year 3. I have always wanted to be a school councillor. I SDC17483.JPGpromise to bring all of your great ideas to the school council meetings and to always be kind.

SDC17484.JPGMy name is Luke. I think I will be a great school councillor because I'm kind and I am always there for people who are hurt and I help people with their work. I will be a good example to the new Reception class children. If someone is at the buddy bus stop at break time I promise to ask them to join in with my game.

Year 4 Councillors

Hi, I am Zoe. I am a good friend, I take part in anything and always try my best. I am looking SDC17476.JPGforward to developing links and hearing your ideas. Here are some of mine, weekly music awards and an Easter play.

SDC17477.JPGMy name is James and I am the Year 4 school councillor. I will be a good councillor because I have some great ideas like a healthy tuck shop and school changing rooms for our PE lessons. I am looking forward to trying lots of new things as a member of the school council and hope to meet the Mayor!

Year 5 Councillors

SDC17480.JPGMy name is Lauren and I am a Year 5 school councillor this year. I think I will make a good school councillor because I have lots of good ideas for our school.

SDC17481.JPGI am Thierry, I think I will be a great school councillor because I am a good representative of our school. I always try my best and will work hard to make our school an even better place to learn!

Year 6 Councillors

SDC17488.JPGHello, my name is Elizabeth and I am in Year 6. I also have a sister in Year 3 called Rebecca. As a school councillor I am particularly looking forward to getting involved in school life and the way our school is run. I have a range of ideas including opening up the big yard occasionally to the infant children for afternoon breaktime and perhaps establishing a small nature to encourage wildlife. thank you for giving me this opportunity.

SDC17486.JPGHello, my name is Sebastian and I am 10 years old. I have an older brother and sister and a pet dog. I have thousands of hobbies but my favourites are rugby and climbing. The reason I want to be a school councillor is because I have never been on the school council before and as this is my last year at St Peter's I really want an important job.

Head boy and Head girl

Hi, I'm Abbey. I am in Year 6 and proud to be Head girl. This year I am looking forward to SDC17487.JPGhelping to make our school an even better place for everyone. I think we could all work together to look at new ways to raise money for school and community funds. I hope we all have fun while making our school and even better place.

SDC17485.JPGHello, I'm Tom and I wanted to tell you a bit about myself. I love rugby and football and many other sports. The reason I wanted to be Head boy was because I want to make the school even better than it already is. I will be nice and kind to all school members especially the younger children. In the future I am hoping to take on more events like the Macmillan Coffee morning and other activities involving the whole school.

St. Peter's School Council

The latest School Council meeting took place on Friday, 23rd April. The meeting was very effectively led by "Chairperson" Matthew Tweddle. The members of the council had asked their classmates for any issues that they wanted to be discussed and the three topics which seem to be of greatest interest were upcoming talent shows, soap dispensers in the cloakroom and the possibility of a "fair trade" tuckshop.  The councillors in each class take their role very seriously and are an excellent voice for their peers.

Well done to all members and keep up the good work!

"As Year 6 School Councillor we would like to help improve our school in any way we can and help anybody who needs it. We will always listen to ideas and make sure they are heard at School Council meetings." (Year 6 School Councillors)
