Dear Parents,
Mrs Hutchinson’s ECO Club will be cancelled on Thursday 27th November as she is involved with a concert at the Dryden Centre that evening. Please ensure that your child is collected at the normal finishing time of 3.15 pm that day.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Your child has designed his/her own Christmas card which will be sent home with your child tonight (14th November). We are aware that some cards have errors in the wording on the back of the card so we have corrected these errors. The company, Paper Themes, have been informed of the situation and have assured us that the ordered cards will be printed correctly.
Please note the following points:-
1 You may order as many packs as you wish.
2 If you wish to place an order, please complete the order form sent home with your proof Christmas card and return it into school (with your payment) by Wednesday 19th November to allow us time to collate and send received orders. [NB: Cheques should be made payable to St Peter’s Primary School Fund.]
3 Please note that orders received after the deadline will not be processed.
4 If you do not receive your proof Christmas card, please contact your child's Class Teacher.
Many thanks.
Christmas Fayre - Friday 21st November
School Hall: 3.30pm until 5.30pm
Admission: £1.00 Adults/Children Free
We are holding our Christmas Fayre on Friday 21st November in the School Hall from 3.30 pm until 5.30 pm. It is a good time to have that clear out you promised yourself! We would be very grateful for any donations for the raffle, Chocolate Tombola, Bottle Tombola, toys (good condition), books, DVDs and CDs (no videos please).
Also on sale will be the school CD, bags and woolly hats. The children’s contribution towards the Christmas Fayre has been tremendous and they have made some excellent craft items, which will also be available to purchase – all items are named.
Bake-a-Cake Donations of cakes and biscuits would be gratefully appreciated on the day of the Fayre however please could you notify the school in advance if you are able to provide either of these items.
For sale on the night will also be refreshments, raffles, stalls and games and, of course, a visit to Santa’s Grotto is always a must! The choir will be singing as usual putting us all in the Christmas spirit! Please come along and bring your friends and relatives too!
All donations for stalls are welcome as soon as possible, cakes and perishables on the day of the Fayre itself please!
This year, we will be raising funds for the ‘Children in Need’ appeal and have decided upon the following:
1 The children can bring a bear to school for the day (free of charge).
2 As Pudsey has a new bandanna this year, the children can donate £1.00 and design and make their own bandanna/eye patch for their own bear or for themselves.
3 This is NOT a non-uniform day and all children should come to school dressed in their normal school uniform.
We hope you will join us in supporting this very special event and thank you for your continued support.
All Welcome!
Thank you very much to all those who attended and donated towards this excellent charity which is so important to many people in our school community. This event was really well attended and allowed us to support both the charity and our parents of the new starters who began full time education today!
We raised £57.48 and will be running this event again next year as it was so successful!
Many thanks once again.
Please find attached term dates for the Academic Year 2008 - 2009.
We hope you will join us for as many celebrations as possible.
All children in Year 6 have been invited to attend a special breakfast club each morning of SATs week. This will give you all a chance to eat together with friends and set you up for the day ahead!
Unfortunately, other year groups and/or brothers/sisters/parents are unable to attend as this is a special treat for the ‘hard-working’ Year 6 children!
Breakfast will be served from 8.30 am in our School Hall. Mrs Lawson has offered to do some ‘warm-up’ exercises (brain training!) just before 9.00 am.
I know you have all worked extremely hard this year and hope that Breakfast Club will be helpful for you this week!
Good Luck everyone and Bon Appetit!
We are delighted to show the high priority we place on the development of culture and our continued commitment to the Arts within school, demonstrated by our Artsmark Gold achievement, by taking the whole school to see 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' at the Sunderland Empire on 30th April 2008 - Free of charge!
We'll let you know how the visit went and our favourite parts of the show afterwards!
Congratulations to all of this week's stars!

Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th February
Owing to unforeseen circumstances, we shall be holding Parents’ Evenings for Year 4 in the week prior to the dates previously published.
Unfortunately, Miss Caldwell will be leaving us on Friday 29th February to continue her travels around the UK and the rest of Europe. We have thoroughly enjoyed having her as part of our staff and wish her well for the future.
We feel it is valuable to hold a Parents’ Night before she leaves so that you have the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress in school.Your appointment time is shown on the attached sheet
