Year 1 had a day of mixed emotions on Friday, 4th February when we said goodbye to Ella Milburn, who has gone off to live live in Florida. Ella and her sister, Olivia in Year 6, were valued members of their classes and Mr. and Mrs. Milburn were very supportive of any school activities.
The day started with a fantastic Harry Potter show, with "Harry Potter, Hagrid and Professor Dumbldore" appearing in the School Hall! The whole school thoroughly enjoyed the experience and were reluctant to see the characters go.
Then it was back to class for Year 1, to play with their teddies, as our theme for the party was The Teddy Bears Picnic. We had an introductory sesssion to introduce fluffy bears, rabbits, monkeys and puppies; Curtis brought his "Cheeky Monkey" and Joseph Armstrong had "Billy Bear!"
The afternoon was full of dancing, singing, playing games and eating party food. Everyone was very well behaved, even Miss Watson!
All of Ella's classmates had signed a lovely card saying "Goodbye and Good Luck" and she left with lots of hugs and kisses. We hope that they will be happy in America and that they make the most of the many opportunities.
The girls will be remembered fondly and will always be St. Peter's girls, they will keep in touch (and Mrs. Temple and Miss Watson are saving up for a holiday in Florida!)
