Happy Chinese New Year to you all! In order to complete our 'Fabulous Festivals' topic from Autumn, in Reception we have been learning about Chinese New Year which will be celebrated by Chinese people everywhere on February 3rd. We have made various crafts, completed some writing and have made Rabbits with our buddies to celebrate the year of the Rabbit. To finish off in style, we had a Chinese banquet on Friday afternoon where we sampled Chinese rice, noodles, chow mein, sping rolls, egg rolls, prawn crackers and Chinese tea. Whilst we ate, we listened to Chinese music, sent in by Harry's mammy and found it very different to the music that we have in our country. To make the experience authentic we used chopsticks to eat, (with varying degress of success!) and have a very enjoyable afternoon!
